Make + Do will be known for it’s ability to recycle already used materials and incorporating this into the branding will help the public connect to the feeling of sustainability. Ultimately, this project will support a sustainable facility that not only brings the art and design community together but also eases the economic and ecologic burden placed on students and the environment. The concept behind the Make + Do brand is based upon the idea of making do and getting by with what is available rather than purchasing new items. The brand also serves as a call to action by promoting the idea of making and doing beautiful new things with reused materials. The combined use of warm, bright colors and abstract letter-forms makes the brand inviting but also new and intriguing. The main obstacle for this program is visibility and awareness so an abundance of promotional collateral is necessary. These objects will be created with reused materials almost exclusively so the production of a stamp and/or stencil that can be applied those materials is crucial.
